The Other Important Things We Do

We started as Gwalior Childrens Hospital. Our foundation  stone was laid back in 1992. Since then we have grown, expanding rapidly to meet the growing needs of the community.  

Our next target is to build an integrated school with vocational training on site within the Snehalaya complex for 500 children including Snehalaya and surrounding villages. A special focus will be on girls -- a segment of our rural population who currently remain uneducated.

THE MEENA SHARMA MEMORIAL RURAL HOSPITAL. Recently completed, the hospital offers primary and emergency care for residents of Snehalaya and for people in surrounding villages. It also runs 14 rural health centres and provides healthcare services through medical camps in both urban slums and rural areas.

HELP-LINE AND ICTC. Open 24 hours and includes video-conferencing facilities for counselling by experts online in India and abroad.

EYE AND DENTAL CENTRE is located in the Gwalior Childens & General Hospital's building.

INTEGRATED RURAL DEVELOPMENT. Snehalaya is the centre of a programme for integrated development in 40 villages in the surrounding area. It is being run in conjunction with the MSM Rural Hospital.

STROKE & CARDIAC REHABILITATION UNIT. Located in the Gwalior Childrens & General Hospital building, the centre aims for complete rehabilitation of stroke and cardiac patients. The program has an integrated approach in which physiotherapy plays an important role.

GWALIOR CHILDRENS & GENERAL HOSPITAL. Opened in 1998, it offers Outpatients department for primary care and handles emergencies.
